Is Tulum Worth Visiting While in Cancun Mexico?

There are many activities to do while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico and Tulum might be one of the best choices if you’re looking for something new and exciting to do. But is it worth visiting? Read on to find out more about Tulum and why you should visit it while vacationing in Cancun!

Introduction

Tulum is a popular tourist destination for those who enjoy the nightlife of Cancun and want to be able to visit an authentic Maya site. It’s about an hour south of Cancun, so you’ll need to rent a car or take a taxi. If you’re looking for something to do while visiting Tulum make sure that you book your tickets ahead of time because they sell out quickly.

What to Expect in Tulum

Tulum is a small town on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It’s known for its beautiful white sand beaches and turquoise water. The scenery is stunning, but it’s not a good idea to go there without getting some information first. There are some things you should know before you travel to Tuum. First, if you’re looking for ruins or temples, this isn’t where you’ll find them. You won’t see many cars and street signs either. Second, there’s no nightlife here. You’ll have to take a taxi into Playa del Carmen to go out at night. Third, prices are higher than most places in Mexico because this is an upscale destination. Lastly, plan your visit carefully so that you don’t miss out on anything while here.

The Pros of Visiting Tulum

Tulum is a small town on the Yucatan Peninsula, about an hour south of Cancun. It’s a popular day trip destination for visitors to the area and while it’s not as touristy as other parts of the peninsula, there are still plenty of restaurants and hotels to choose from. Plus, it offers some of the most stunning views that you’ll find anywhere in the Caribbean. There are several large man-made lakes, each filled with vibrant plants and flowers of all colors. And unlike many Caribbean islands, there’s a tropical dry forest just outside of town. Here the trees have retained their natural bark and have yet to be attacked by termites or replaced by invasive species like those found in Puerto Rico.

Things to do in Tulum

Tulum is a small town on the coast of the Caribbean Sea in southwest Mexico. It’s an hour from Cancun and is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. Located at the end of a large bay, it has white-sand beaches as well as ancient Mayan ruins that date back to around 100 BC. The main attraction is El Castillo, a towering pyramid built in honor of Quetzalcoatl. The view from El Castillo is spectacular–it’s possible to see all the way out to sea! Other popular sites include Los Arcos and La Laguna de Sacrificios. For foodies: Tulum also boasts some fantastic restaurants serving authentic Mexican cuisine. We ate at Punta Chivato and tried the famous shrimp cocktail–you won’t be disappointed!

Conclusion

If you’re looking for something to do while visiting Cancun and want a little more adventure than the beach has to offer, Tulum is worth the visit. If you’re not interested in trekking through the jungle or don’t have much time, a day trip may be your best bet. It’s worth noting that if you do decide to go on a day trip, it can take up to two hours of driving on bumpy dirt roads before arriving at your destination.
